Jane is the North American translation of her Russian name, Zheenya. She was born in 1964 in the small Siberian City of Osinniki.
At the age of 15, Jane moved to another Siberian city to attend The Belovo College of Art Education and Design where she studied art history, painting and drawing for four years.
After graduating the college Jane entered into evening program at the Architectural University of Novosibirsk. She graduated from the University in 1990 with a Master Degree in Architecture.
She lived in Estonia and the United States before arriving in Canada in 1994. Jane is now a Canadian citizen and resides in Airdrie, Alberta where she paints, designs and teaches art.
Jane is spontaneous and very passionate about her work. "Painting to me is like writing a diary, it reflects my state of mind and my perception of life, regardless of the subject matter. Sometimes it takes life on its own and surprises me. My paintings are like my children, each have different destiny and travel wherever they suppose to go. As an artist, I treasure the opportunity to communicate my emotions with the viewer through my paintings."
